Worship
What to Expect on a Typical Sunday
Worship is our first act of service in the church. It is a gathering of community where we offer our thanks and praise to God, read the Scriptures, and pray for others and ourselves that we might gain the strength and courage to go out into the world and serve Christ throughout the week.
Church Calendar & Special Services
St. James is a liturgical church which means we follow a pattern of worship laid out in the Revised Common Lectionary. The joy of the lectionary is that anyone can know what is being read each Sunday, regardless of what Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist or Roman Catholic Church they attend.
Worshipping with Kids
We love having children in church! It means the church is alive and that we are the Body of Christ, where everyone is included even if they make some extra noise or can't sit completely still throughout the service. Kids learn a lot from being in church from their earliest years.
